As part of its commitment to creating quality educational opportunities for students in need, our  New York chapter raised funds to donate to the Hanmaun Zen Center youth group's educational programs.

At YWCA, AAH! Bronx chapter and New York directors collaborated with their staff to help those in need during the holiday season. The chapter packed food and delivered gifts to kids in low-income families. Much thanks to the YWCA staff and volunteers for making it possible!

NEW YORK CHAPTERs HELPING IMMIGRANTS IN NEED!

By running an event in Flushing, New York, through the Minkwon Center, the New York AAH! chapter helped immigrants set up apps that make them aware of how prevalent COVID-19 is in their communities and connect to smart thermometers tracking their health. The members also helped guide those interested in resources such as a health insurance plan and food stamps.

This initiative is a part of our mission of helping those in need, such as immigrants.

NEW YORK CHAPTERs HELPING IMMIGRANT communities!

Five of our local chapters in New York volunteered at Randalls Island to help with lowering food prices for immigrant communities. They regularly took part in agricultural initiatives easing cost burdens on the community.

AAH! New York chapters held our social justice outreach event in collaboration with NHFNM to help the refugees in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Our group was there to help set up and run the street fair from 7:30 am -1:00 pm.

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to our environmental conservation outreach event today at Little Bay Park. Although the weather was hot, everyone worked hard to clean up the area and give back to our community. **Our volunteers removed over 400 gallons of garbage!! *We were interviewed and filmed by a former CBS newsman. Look for Bayside Live TV on Facebook

OUR New York chapter volunteered at THE Queens County Farm Museum to help RUN ITS halloween festival

Hi! My name is Kelly Leo. I am currently a junior at Queens High School for the Sciences at York College. The courses that I am enrolled in this year are College Pre-Calculus, AP United States History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Chinese Language and Culture, and AP Psychology. I am strongly suited in math, so I hope that I can help you understand the topics you are uncomfortable with.

Hi! My name is Caitlin Ngo and I am a junior at Queens High School for the Sciences at York College. I maintain high grades, while balancing rigorous classes and participating in extracurriculars. This year, I am taking college pre-calculus, AP U.S. History, AP Biology, AP Computer Science Principles, AP English Language and Composition, and Orchestra. I am also the Vice President of the AAH affiliated club in my school, the senior public relations director for a club that manages the school's social media, an officer in orchestra, and play on my school's tennis team. In my free time, I enjoy reading books; playing sports, especially volleyball, football, and tennis; watching Netflix; and playing music. I have played the piano for 11 years and the oboe for 6 years. With that, I look forward to tutoring and helping students improve in skills they may struggle with!

Hi, I come from a family of immigrants, and I am attending school at QHSS and am currently in eleventh grade. I enjoy working out and cooking.

I'm a current junior at Queens High School for the Sciences at York College. I'm pursuing opportunities that will help me to find a career in the medical field in the future.

Hi, I'm Anica! I live in New York and I am a junior in Jericho High School. I enjoy reading and walking my dog in my free time. I can teach math, scratch, english, and chemistry.

Hello, my name is Danica. I attend LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts as a junior instrumental major. I have been playing the oboe for the past 7 years, and I really enjoy playing it. My hobbies include watching movies, playing volleyball, reading comics, and drawing. Math classes I have taken are Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. I am currently taking AP statistics, pre-calc, and web development. Other classes I currently take are AP Language, US History, Senior Orchestra, Senior Band, and Music History. I genuinely enjoy math. I glad to have this opportunity to teach.

I've tutored younger children (ages 6-8) and am currently volunteering, at my church, during a Sunday Service for children with special needs.

Hi, my name is Brandon Cho and I go to Queens High School of Sciences at York College in New York. I was an AAH formal student from 2017 to 2020, and I am so excited to be part of the AAH team as a tutor to give back to our community. Currently, I am teaching English to Korean students and it has been great to watch them improve with time. Sometimes, students can find it difficult to learn in school and that some other methods of education are better for them. I am currently in ninth grade and have been a good student throughout middle school. I am also very interested in art, as I have enjoyed art ever since I was young. I also enjoy analyzing movies and stories to find problems and what they did well and see if I could write stories myself. I hope to help spread AAH even more and find bigger international success.
