My name is Jacob Lee and I am a student of Northern Highlands High School. I am currently an incoming sophomore and my best achievements academically so far are making it to Honors Geometry and Honors Physics. As I am also a foil fencer, my best achievements in fencing consist of a gold medal in Y14 Men's Foil, 8th place medal in Cadet Men's Foil, 3rd place in Junior Team Men's Foil, and 19th place in Div1 Men's Foil.
ello! My name is Monique Bamba I’m 16 and I’m moving on to the 12th. I am very excellent with math such as the basics, Pythagorean theorem, quadratic formula, factoring, algebra 1 and 2 as well as geometric and arithmetic. I am also fairly good in science where’s there’s biology, periodic table, atoms, and ions. I’m good at reading and listening as well as having patience. I’m good with communication with kids who grew up with immigrants parents from Africa. I’m eager to meet new kids and help them or maybe even learn a thing or two.
Hello! My name is Irene Dumitriu, and I am a senior at Princeton High School, NJ. I am currently the Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper and an editor for both the literary magazine and the science magazine. I have received an honorable mention from the Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards and was an AP Scholar with Honor in 2020 and an AP Scholar with Distinction in 2021.
My name is Mirella Ionescu, and I am currently in 10th grade at Lawrence High School in NJ. I’ve been enrolled in English honors classes and would be happy to tutor English, reading and writing. Outside of school, I am interested in drawing, music, and flamenco, and I have recently begun volunteering at the Meals on Wheels organization.
My name is Yushan Li, but you can call me Iris. I am from China, but currently I am studying in an American high school. I participated in the WISTEM (Women in STEM) club in my school. I also studied html and css by myself. Now I am able to create my personal website. Since Chinese is my mother langanguage and I studied in the US, I am able to teach both Chinese and English.
I am a rising Junior at Ethical Culture Fieldston school. I am also a part of Nanoom Harmony Orchestra, a volunteer music program which aims to help provide free and enjoyable musical entertainment to those in Senior Centers and those in Mental Institutes. I used to go to Ideal School which has really helped me to acquaint myself with people who have disabilities as well. I am also a volunteer at my church where I work with 3rd-5th graders. There I work as a teacher who helps to teach the kids about God and to get people comfortable with actually coming to church.
I am a rising Junior at Newark Academy who receives straight A's in honors classes. I am particularly strong in math. This year I will be taking honors Pre-Calculus. I love math and enjoy teaching math to others. I also am proficient in Python and Turtle Graphics. I took a 2 week course on Python and Turtle at Emory University this summer and during the school year I took coding classes with Juni. I have experience tutoring my younger brother and his friends. His friends always face time me when they need help with homework, and I am always happy to help. I love turning frustration into problem solving!!
