2022 AAH! health event: blood drive & cpr training

Partnering with the American Red Cross, we held our annual blood drive. With 32 donors, the event can contribute to saving the lives of up to 96 people. Thank you to those who contributed to addressing today's significant blood supply shortage!

There is currently an extreme shortage of blood needed for lifesaving transfusions, and the Red Cross is crucial in solving this issue. Even one donation can save up to three lives. A blood transfusion is needed every two seconds, and there is never enough supply to meet demand.

Cards for kids event

Cardz For Kidz is a global non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, smiles, and encouragement to children, families, seniors, and veterans in hospitals, schools, and senior living. To support their mission, AAH held a card making event with students, parents, and others, making over 140 cards with 60 volunteers. A big thank you to everyone who supported us!

Organized by Elly Kang (co-founder) and Medha Gunda (Alpharetta Local Chapter head and Community Outreach Director)

Hi, my name is Aaron Kim. I go to Holy Redeemer Catholic School, and I am currently in 8th grade. I live in Johns Creek with my mother, father, and my dog, Ellie. Since I go to a school with primary, elementary, and middle school, I am in love taking care of younger kids than me. I have never taught anyone in my live before, but this was a great opportunity for me, and I couldn’t miss it. I am so looking forward to teaching my student soon!

I am currently a senior at Chattahoochee High School which is located in Johns Creek, Georgia. I am interested in Math and Science. Relevant AP classes that I have taken include AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, and AP Biology. This year, I am taking AP Physics 1 and AP Statistics. Some of my academic accomplishments include receiving a 780 on the Math section of the SAT twice and receiving 5's on all of my Science and Math AP exams. I have previously taught elementary math through AAH! during the 2021-2022 school year. Additionally, I taught middle school math over the summer of 2022 through the organization Discovery Circle.

Hi, my name is Nicole Shin and I’m a Junior at Alpharetta High School in Georgia! I graduated middle school in Korea so I’m fluent in both Korean and English and can teach both languages. I have a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and also know how to play the violin.

Hello! My name is Sofia Choe. I am currently living in Georgia and I go to Lakeside Middle School. I am in 7th grade with math being a subject I am confident in. I am most confident in teaching elementary math!

I’m a sophomore at Johns Creek High School with high academic standing. I am taking advanced classes in English, Math and Science, as well as a Computer Science pathway for electives. I’ve taken 4 AP courses and expect to complete 13 AP classes by the end of my senior year.
