We are excited to announce that a new chapter has been established at Rice University by our co-founders for the 2023-2024 year. Currently, we are in the process of forming two partnerships with Baker-Ripley Neighbor School and Sunnyside High School. We look forward to our new expansion in the Houston Area and to teach new students! As AAH’s first college chapter and in the state of Texas, we also look to partner with a number of colleges in the Houston community like University of Houston and Texas Southern University.

My name is Elly Kang, and I'm a senior at Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia! I am passionate about artificial intelligence and data science and am especially focused on mitigating structural inequalities. I have dedicated much of my work to creating equal opportunities and reducing the wealth and gender gap, with a focus on STEM fields.

I've been tutoring since 2017 at American Assimilation Helpline! (AAH!), and I truly enjoy working with students. So far, I've learned so much throughout my experience and become increasingly passionate about guiding students in need to the right path. Specifically, the AAH! computer science team and I have been making coding accessible for low-income, immigrant, refugee, and homeless students who have little or no access to STEM education. My goal is to reach out to as many students as possible and introduce computer science while promoting academic success. That's why I've decided to dedicate as much time as I can to igniting students' potential as part of my pursuit to end systemic inequality.

Hello, my name is Abhishek Kona, and I’m one of the co-founders of AAH! I'm a freshman at Rice university. Since 2017, our program has been tutoring students in order to enlighten the futures of many bright tutees as well as provide opportunities to those who may have been denied such chances. It gives me great pleasure and delight in working with these students, as everyday, I’m more than happy to share my knowledge and create a better world for them.  By helping everyone, I hope to not only see their growth and potential but expand these educational circumstances even further globally.

Hello everyone, my name is Abhinav Kona, a co-founder of AAH! I'm a freshman at Rice university. I've been a tutor since 2017, and I enjoy working with students and value the time I spend with each child. Since not everyone has access to sound education, I make sure to teach in a way so that each child has the potential to succeed in academics. My belief is that the improvement and success of each individual is key to affecting a family's life in an improved world. As we keep improving and expanding, immigrants' lives will change.

My name is John Chung. I am a Korean that was born in America, and is currently living in Cambodia. I am attending HOPE International School, in my junior year of the IB course. I recently got all A's in my report, and I am a well-rounded student who is especially interested in math and science. I am studying high level(HL) maths, physics, and chemistry in IB. I am a TCK(Third culture kid), and have missionary parents.

Hello! My name is Siddarth Chilukuri. I go to The University of British Columbia-major in Computer Science and graduated from Global Indian International School in Singapore. I'm really good at Maths and Computers.

Some of my notable achievements include:

1. Grade 10 Interschool Volleyball finalist

2. Head of Events Management at GIIS Tech Club

Hi, my name is Brandon Cho and I go to Queens High School of Sciences at York College in New York. I was an AAH formal student from 2017 to 2020, and I am so excited to be part of the AAH team as a tutor to give back to our community. Currently, I am teaching English to Korean students and it has been great to watch them improve with time. Sometimes, students can find it difficult to learn in school and that some other methods of education are better for them. I am currently in ninth grade and have been a good student throughout middle school. I am also very interested in art, as I have enjoyed art ever since I was young. I also enjoy analyzing movies and stories to find problems and what they did well and see if I could write stories myself.
